Yellow Wall Art
Yellow is the highest-luminance colour there is, which means a yellow canvas reflects noticeably more light back into a room than any other artwork you could hang. In a north-facing room, a basement flat or a dim hallway, that is not a decorative detail, it is a practical one.
The collection runs across the whole range, and the ranges behave very differently. Ochre, mustard and honey are warm, slightly dusty and easy to live with; they sit beautifully against grey, navy, walnut and terracotta. Lemon and bright primary yellow are far louder and want a lot of white space around them. Pale butter and cream yellows are almost neutral and work as background colour.
Subjects include sunlit fields and desert horizons, sunflower and mimosa botanicals, minimalist suns, mid-century geometric work, and abstract colour blocks where yellow simply carries the composition.
Use yellow in one place per room rather than three. A single wide canvas above a sofa or a bed does the whole job, and a black or dark wood floating frame will stop bright yellow from feeling unfinished at the edges.
Printed on cotton canvas with non-toxic, fade-resistant inks and hand-stretched over FSC-certified pine, in eight sizes from 8x24 to 24x72 inches.
