Vertical Wall Art
Every home has walls that defeat normal artwork. The strip between two windows. The slim panel beside a door frame. The double-height wall above a staircase. The narrow gap next to a wardrobe. These are tall, thin spaces, and hanging a square print in the middle of one only draws attention to the emptiness above and below.
This collection is our signature format turned on its end: the same roughly 1:3 proportion, oriented vertically. It does two useful things. It fills the awkward wall completely, and it pulls the eye upward, which makes a room with standard 2.4 metre ceilings read taller than it is.
The subjects are chosen to suit the shape rather than forced into it. Single flowering stems and palm leaves, waterfalls, tall pines and forest verticals, standing figures and birds, cascading abstract washes, and Japanese-inspired scroll compositions that were designed vertically in the first place.
For stairwells, hang the centre of the canvas at roughly eye level from the middle step rather than measuring from the floor. On flat walls the usual 145 to 150 cm centre height applies.
Cotton canvas, Greenguard Gold certified non-toxic inks, FSC-certified pine, eight sizes, gallery wrap or a floating frame in four finishes.
