Psychedelic Wall Art

Psychedelic art was born on a wall, not in a gallery. The 1960s concert poster was designed to be seen large, at a distance, in poor light, which is why its vocabulary, saturated complementary colour, warped type, liquid form, holds up so well at 60 and 72 inches wide.

This collection takes that language somewhere more liveable. Melting gradients and liquid colour fields. Retro sun and rainbow arcs in ochre, rust and cream, the muted seventies palette rather than the acid one. Concentric ripples and op-art repetition. Flowing organic line work influenced by Art Nouveau, which is where the original poster artists took it from in the first place.

Because the compositions are built on repetition and flow, they gain from length: a gradient that crosses 72 inches shifts genuinely, while the same design in a square print reads as a single colour.
