Office Wall Art

Office walls have two jobs now: the wall you look at while working, and the wall behind you on video calls. They want different artwork, and this collection covers both.

For the wall you face, choose low-stimulation pieces. Tonal abstracts, distant landscapes, ink brushwork and monochrome line studies give the eye somewhere to rest between tasks without pulling focus. The wall above a desk is usually only 40 to 60 cm of usable height, which is precisely where a 12x36 or 16x48 inch panoramic fits when a square print would not.

For the wall behind you, do the opposite. A single wide, graphic piece, a city skyline, a bold colour-block abstract, a strong architectural composition, reads clearly through a webcam, where a cluster of small frames turns into visual clutter. Centre it slightly off-axis from your head rather than directly behind it.

Vertical formats work well in home offices carved out of alcoves and landings, filling narrow wall between shelving and door frames.
