Hallway / Entryway Wall Art
Hallways are the hardest walls in a house and the least served by ordinary art. You never see a corridor wall straight on, you see it at an angle while walking, and you pass within half a metre of it. Both facts argue for the same thing: long, low artwork with a shallow profile.
Our framed canvases sit 4.5 cm off the wall in total, and gallery wraps 3 cm, so nothing catches a shoulder or a coat in a narrow passage. A 20x60 or 24x72 inch horizontal piece resolves properly as you move past it, unfolding rather than presenting all at once, which is the closest thing a hallway has to an advantage.
The entryway itself calls for a different piece. This is the first thing anyone sees, so it can be the boldest thing you own: a strong colour, a graphic composition, a striking landscape. Tall vertical formats work where a console table or radiator eats the lower wall, filling the height above it.
Because corridors are usually dim, favour higher-contrast work over subtle tonal pieces. Printed on cotton canvas with non-toxic inks and hand-stretched over FSC-certified pine, in eight sizes with gallery wrap or four frame finishes.
